welcome to salt lake city gay pride 2006, which lacked the energy of events in the past. there was a decent turnout, however, the folks participating looked as if they would rather be curled up at home with a tall glass of ice tea and a nearly naked pool boy/girl. i kept waiting for the energy levels to pick up but they never did.

i was also disturbed by the commercialization. "want a mortgage?" "get a credit card and get a free tote bag!" the little speciality booths, like the CTL ring maker, were extremely scant. it's as if the gay community is being preyed upon under the guise of support. disgusting.
