amsterdamnation followed by a bath
walk, bike, tram, train, plane, bus, bus, bus, walk, bus and then back to plymouth. this last week has found me running amok from london to amsterdam to bath and home again.
highlights: the camden market, coffeeshops, renting bikes, the anne frank house, the homomonument, ice skating, (see the above picture taken of our friend dimitris who definately needed a coffeeshop right after this photo was snapped), the roman baths, and the jane austin center where rick and i indulged in tea and lunch. there are three particular people who would have loved to have been sitting with us, sipping on the jane austin blend, enjoying the victorian music and setting... you know who you are.
lowlights: harassment from a vertically challenged panhandler who informed me i was going to be stabbed after i told him to get lost, the iss bus ride, toilets with a 8.4 hover rating, thirty seconds in which to visit bath, and, please note the uncharacteristic propriety, traveler's tummy.
finally, here's a tip from rick to anyone traveling to amsterdam: as far as free maps go, bypass them all and head directly to the pink point, a gay and lesbian info station that distributes a gay map, which is by far the best. i heartily concur with his recommendation.
